Dissent Media Group was founded in 2025 by Jennifer Edwards at a time of great social turmoil. As a Black woman and descendant of slaves, it was imperative for her to use her background in advocacy, marketing, and years of experience in the corporate, nonprofit, and political sectors, as a force for change. Realizing there is a continuous gap in the marketing industry, which will only expand with continued inequity, Jennifer decided to create Dissent Media Group LLC. as a vehicle to drive intentional, community-centered advertising campaigns, which truly reflect and respect the audiences they serve.

Jennifer has led multi-million-dollar media campaigns for a Fortune 50 company, multi-million-dollar campaigns for political PACs and Independent expenditures, political candidates, non-profit organizations, and privately held companies. Some notable digital media campaigns she led include the digital media for Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s historic mayoral election, Building Back Together, Future Forward USA Action, the League of Conservation Voters and House Majority PAC, and Reproductive Freedom for All, as well as collaborated on research campaigns with Open AI, Common Sense Media, and other notable businesses and organizations, many while leading marketing and paid media at 50+1 Strategies.

Jennifer holds a BA in Middle Eastern Studies, Minor in Spanish, from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Simon Business School at the University of Rochester. She has also studied and lived abroad in Latin America, Europe and Asia. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, with a basic competency in written Arabic, and is known for her diplomatic, insightful, and dedicated nature. Her mission with Dissent Media Group is clear—leveraging marketing as a tool for empowerment and lasting impact. Dissent Media Group, LLC is her legacy: a bridge between media campaigns and the people they impact.
